Top Lies You Will Hear When Chasing Your Dreams

Your-Time-Is-Limited
What a breath of fresh air it was to read this!  This was a great article I wanted to share with you all.  To be perfectly honest, I would have been the one saying those cautionary comments so it was great for me to see it from another perspective.
The article is from a site called ‘Motivation Grid’ and I highly recommend you check them out.
Unfortunately, just before you take your first step towards  pursuing your dreams, the  people around you, even the ones who deeply care for you, will give you awful advices.  Don’t understand me wrong, they don’t have evil intentions. They just don’t see the big picture –  they don’t know what your passions, life goals and your dreams mean to you.  They don’t understand that, to you, the journey is worth the risk.
So they try somehow to protect you, but they don’t understand they actually stop you from what you are meant to do. And then horrible friends try to discourage you!
As Steve Jobs says: Your-Time-Is-Limited, Read the 10 bad lies people will most likely tell you when you decide to chase your dreams when you continue!

(1). Later on you can follow your dreams, but now you have too much responsibilities. – Someday?  When is ‘someday?’  There isn’t such day as someday.  Someday never comes and someday doesn’t exist.  Today is the only day you have.  Today is the one and only day you can change something and make a difference!  And don’t you agree that  life is all about pursuing dreams.  What you have to do is to make today the first day of the rest of your new life.
(2). You’re fucked if it doesn’t work out. – Not true!  This is pure BS.   The worst case scenario is that things don’t work out for you and you have to go back to doing exactly what you are doing right now.
(3). Your job at the moment is safer. – Probably yes, I suppose.  But you know what’s even safer than your job at the moment?  Going home, locking yourself in your room, and never, ever coming out – that’s even more safer so why not do it?  Just because your job offers you some safety  doesn’t mean you have to  flush your entire life and dreams down the toilet.  Remember, safer doesn’t always mean better.
(4). It’s impossible! – It’s only impossible if you never do anything about it.  The simple reason certain things seem impossible at the moment  is simply because nobody has achieved them yet.   If you truly dedicate yourself to your goal, everything is possible.  You just have to want it bad enough.
(5). Only the lucky few make it in the end. – So wrong again.  Most of the times the ones you call lucky few got off their rear ends and did something about it!  They were the ones with more  drive, determination, and willpower then others.  And  you can be one of those “lucky few”.  It’s up to you, and only you.
(6). What if you fail? Failing is bad. – Failing is the main ingredient for success.  There are 2 outcomes when you try something new – you either win or you learn. In both situations you win. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is doing nothing because you’re too scared to make a mistake.  You can’t handle success, if you can’t handle failure.
(7). You don’t have resources. – It’s not about having the right resources, it’s about starting. Start where you are with what you have, because what you have is plenty. In todays world we have easy access to so much information – thanks to the internet! Most people think they need millions of dollars to make a million dollar company and that’s wrong. All you need is plan to execute on, determination, willpower, never quitting attitude and hard work!
(8). You need more money saved before you can start. – You don’t need more money.  You need a plan.  You need a budget, so if your dream requires you to leave your job, figure out what’s the minimum income that you need to live.  Don’t forget you don’t need to repeat the mistakes of others, study people who have succeeded with similiar ventures.   Ask yourself  “What actions can I take right now with the money and resources I have right now that will bring me closer to my desired goal?”
(9). You don’t need any help.  It’s smarter to go after it alone. –So wrong! You need to find the right people, you need to surround yourself with people with similiar goals. Don’t you know that you are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with.  Hanging out with the wrong people will only harm you.  So focus on finding the right people. With the right team you will be far more powerful then being alone, and when you do find them work you way to the top!
.
That sounds like a lot of hard work. – Of course it does!  But does that mean it’s not worth it? No, lol.
Personally for me success in life means – finding hard work that you love to do. You see when you remain true to yourself and you  follow your dreams, values and your own interests you are most likely to reach success through your passion.  You see people who are not true to themselves always ask themselves  “How the heck am I going to do this for the next 30 years?”  So if you find something that you love doing while working hard, don’t quit! You’re on to something big and well on the right way towards accomplishing your dreams. Now get out there and make it happen!
